History,Goal & Philosophy

The Connecticut Heat Girls Basketball Club is a 501c3 non profit organization that was formed in August 2005 by a group of parents and a coach who wanted a better opportunity for their daughters without all the politics that can come with a larger organization. We started with one team that quickly developed into two. Our U13 team that season was considered one of the top teams in New England, winning the State Championship and making it to the Championship bracket of the AAU National Championships.

OUR GOAL:

  • To teach them the skills and fundamentals needed to reach the next level.
  • To teach life lessons, how to handle adversities such as losing a game, bad call by an official and dealing with teammates.
  • Prepare our girls for the “real world”.
  • Strive to be the best…..”Shoot for the Stars, if you miss you’ll land on the Moon”.

OUR PHILOSIPHY:

“Play to win”. We don’t expect to win every game but we expect our players to leave it all on the court. Giving 50% is not acceptable in the class room, on the court or in life.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS (Since 2006):

  • Our teams have won several tournament Championships.
  • Placed in many National tournaments.
  • Coached several players who now play Division I, II & III basketball

The Heat continues to Rise!!!
